Ventura, Calif.- The Ventura Police Department invites community members to enjoy a warm cup of coffee or cocoa and casual conversation at Cocoa with a Copon Wednesday, December 3, from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. at Frontside Cafe, located at 1070 East Front Street.
The holiday season is a time for connection, and this event offers a relaxed way for residents to meet the officers who serve Ventura, ask questions, and share ideas about community safety.
Front Street is both a busy commercial corridor and home to several residential areas where the department regularly receives calls for service, making this gathering a meaningful opportunity to connect directly with residents and local business owners.
"Every person we meet has questions related to local public safety and policing, and events like this give us a chance to hear them," said Police Chief David Dickey. "Policing is about people: understanding their concerns, helping address problems and being part of the communitywe serve. Sometimes the best conversations happen over a simple cup of coffee."
Typically, residents meet officers during stressful or emergency situations. Cocoa with a Cop provides a calm, friendly setting to talk one-on-one with officers and the Chief of Police, helping remove barriers and build stronger relationships.
