HACU program prepares students for workforce through certificate

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is expanding efforts to prepare college students for the workforce through a new Career Readiness certificate program. The certificate is open to all HACU-member institution students at no cost.

Through nationwide corporate partnerships, HACU provides internship opportunities connecting academic learning with real-world experience. This certificate is designed to enhance student preparedness for corporate internship readiness and workforce success.

The curriculum focuses on improving students' ability to present their skills in resumes, cover letters, interviews and professional settings. The program emphasizes key areas such as self-awareness, professional communication, workplace behavior and teamwork. Additional modules will focus on time and financial management, ethical decision-making and leadership development.

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines enrolled at a HACU-member institution.
  • The deadline to apply is June 19

Requirements:

  • Students must complete eight self-paced modules and career readiness webinars (with follow up reflections) aligned with employer-identified competencies to strengthen readiness for internships and full-time roles to earn the certificate.

Information about the program and application process is available here.
