PALMDALE, CA - The City of Palmdale is excited to announce its Digital Art Contest, Bytes and Blooms. This year's theme, "Let Creativity Bloom in Every Byte", merges technology with nature and showcases how innovation and sustainability can coexist.
All digital artists are invited to participate, and five prizes, one per age group, are up for grabs. The grand prize is a free laptop with a drawing tablet or an iPad Air with Apple Pencil and online digital art classes with a local artist! If under the age of 18, winning contestants must be accompanied by a guardian to pick up prizes.
All submissions must be original artwork and will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
AI-generated images or components are not art, and any submissions, components, preexisting characters or use of copyrighted material will result in immediate disqualification.
"Our community prides itself on its cultural authenticity," said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. "We are excited to see the passion of talented individuals and what they can accomplish."
Submissions are open until Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. We will announce the winners on our social media accounts during the week of Dec. 15. Contestants can receive more information and submit their material via an online form at https://www.cityofpalmdaleca.gov/1551/16764/Digital-Access.
