Home Newsroom Attorney General Labrador Announces Sentencing of Rexburg Man for Possessing Child Pornography
BOISE - Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced that Kyle Allen, 19, was convicted of two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Pornography). The Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Allen was sentenced on September 15, 2025, by Seventh District Judge Steven Boyce.
In September 2023, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit received a CyberTip from Discord that an account, later identified as belonging to Allen, had accessed child sexual abuse material (CSAM). After obtaining search warrants, officers seized Allen's digital devices. Forensic examiners from the Office of the Attorney General located approximately 20 files of CSAM organized on Allen's cell phone. Many of these files depicted minor children engaged in sex acts with adults.
"Parents need to know that predators like this are operating in our communities, seeking out images of children being exploited," said Attorney General Labrador. "We will relentlessly pursue every predator who exploits Idaho's children through these disturbing crimes. I'm proud of the partnerships we've built statewide that make these prosecutions possible and make Idaho families safer."
The investigation was led by Detective Korey Payne, a full-time affiliate of the Attorney General's ICAC Unit and member of the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office. The ICAC Unit was assisted by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, Madison County Sheriff's Office, Rexburg Police Department, and Idaho Falls Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorneys General Madison Allen Gourley and James Haws.
Judge Boyce sentenced Allen to 10 years in prison with 2.5 years fixed and 8.5 years indeterminate. Allen will be required to register as a sex offender pursuant to Idaho law.
Anyone with information regarding the exploitation of children is encouraged to contact local police, the Attorney General's ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
