Today, we're rolling out updates to Ashby's Chrome Extension to ensure continued compliance with how the extension interacts with third-party platforms like LinkedIn. We've used this as an opportunity to improve several workflows along the way.
Below is a video overview and description of what's changing and what's new.
The extension is moving from an in-page popover to a Chrome Side Panel. This improves extension performance and avoids UI overlap with LinkedIn's native interface.
The way you add and look up candidates from LinkedIn is changing. You now have three options for adding candidates to Ashby:
For looking up existing candidates, the extension will continue to automatically show if a candidate is already in Ashby on public LinkedIn profiles.
Additionally, as part of these changes we're removing any UI elements that modify existing pages. This includes the "in Ashby" indicator on LinkedIn search pages and lists.
For other pages like LinkedIn Recruiter, you can paste the LinkedIn profile URL into the extension to check for an existing candidate profile.
We're also introducing a new workflow for LinkedIn Recruiter users that makes it easy to bulk add candidates and conduct bulk outreach using LinkedIn Recruiter's CSV export capabilities.
You can see all of the LinkedIn Recruiter changes in our help docs under: Using the extension with LinkedIn Recruiter.
If Chrome is set to automatically update your extensions, no action is needed for these changes to take effect. Otherwise, you'll need to manually update the Ashby extension to receive these updates.
