Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Addresses listed are rounded to the hundred block. For a complete list of case reports, visit olympiawa.gov/p2c.

Notable Trends

  • Five aggravated assaults reported over the two-week period with three arrests, one an open investigation and charges referred to the prosecutor on the last case. In one arrest, the suspect strangled the victim during an argument. In another arrest, the suspect pushed a security guard into a door who was trying to get them to leave the property. In the charges referred, a patient assaulted a nurse with the call light remote. In the other arrest, the suspect hit the victim with a bat and threatened and attempted to hit them with their car. The driver was also arrested for DUI.
  • One robbery reported over the two-week period. The suspect pushed an employee trying to stop a shoplift.
  • Five commercial burglaries reported with one still an open investigation. In two cases, it was unknown how the suspect entered. Electronics, tools and keys were stolen. In another case, the suspect snuck in through an unsecured door, hid in the bathroom and stole money from the safe after the employee left. In the other case, officers arrested a suspect who returned to a business he was previously trespassed from and stole again.
  • Three residential burglaries with one still an open investigation. In one case, the suspect broke a door to an electrical room and accessed a secure area with apartments. In another case, officers arrested the suspect for violation of a no contact order and for multiple warrants.
  • Seven bikes stolen during the two-week period. Many of them had kryptonite locks cut. Using multiple locks, including a U-lock style lock, may help deter the theft.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 1,916 calls over the two-week period.
  • Dates are out for the holiday light parades with the first one scheduled for Wednesday, December 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Northeast & South Capitol neighborhoods. Check out the website for additional dates, routes and the live tracker map. Hope to see you out there!
