Government declares 6 November a Day of Mourning in Montenegro following tragedy in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Following the tragic loss of lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Montenegrin Cabinet, in a telephone session and based on the consent of the majority of its members, adopted a decision to declare Thursday, 6 November 2025, a Day of Mourning in Montenegro.

In accordance with the Law on State Symbols and Statehood Day, flags will be flown at half-mast on all buildings of state authorities, local self-government bodies, and public institutions.

In line with the Decision, on the Day of Mourning, no public, cultural, or entertainment events will be held, and music will not be played in hospitality venues.

Electronic and other media outlets are required to adjust their programming to mark the Day of Mourning appropriately.

The Prime Minister and members of the Government of Montenegro express their deep condolences to the families of the victims, to the Mayor of Tuzla Zijad Lugavić and the citizens of Tuzla, as well as to the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
