New Hires in Shows

Jake Lucas has also joined the "Headlines" team as a producer based in London. He's making the jump to the show after working with the Video team. There, he helped curate the Watch tab and produced short-form videos for the platform on everything from the war in Ukraine to the French president's choice of sunglasses. Over more than eight years at The Times, he's worked across the newsroom, editing on multiple desks, experimenting extensively with how to showcase The Times's audio offerings, and reporting behind-the-scenes stories about how Times correspondents do their work, including explaining how they use the Freedom of Information Act. Now, at "The Headlines," he'll be helping write and produce the show, bringing listeners the latest news right when they wake up.
