The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) announced more details today about the funeral arrangements for Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr., who lost his life in the line of duty on Wednesday, July 1.
The services will be held at the North Schuylkill Junior/Senior High School, located at 15 Academy Lane in Ashland. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The visitation and funeral service are open to the public. Burial services will be private.
Commonwealth Media Services will provide a livestream of Wednesday's funeral service at https://pacast.com/live/psp. The service will also be available on PSP's Facebook page.
A media staging area will be at the school entrance, at the southeast corner of Academy Lane and Elmer Street. Media can park along Academy Lane, south of Elmer Street, as indicated in the map above.
Media must be in the staging area no later than 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8th. Access to the media staging area will be closed and secured after that time.
The Pahira family kindly requests that no media enter the funeral service and that all media remain within the designated area as indicated on the map.

There will be heavy traffic volume in the area, including Route 61, with delays expected throughout the day.
