Teacher’s aide arrested for school threat

BUCKEYE, AZ (September 2, 2026): A teacher's aide is in jail after threatening to shoot up her school in a social media post.

Yesterday afternoon, Buckeye police received a tip about a possible threat of a school shooting posted to an Instagram account. Information about the location where the post was made came back to Westpark Elementary School. Buckeye police detectives were able to identify the individual behind the post as 21-year-old Sharde Booker, a para-professional employed at the school. Detectives coordinated with school resource officers to locate and arrest Booker last night on charges of interfering with an educational institution and threats.

Buckeye police notified school officials immediately after the arrest and determined there was no ongoing threat to the campus. The Buckeye Police Department remains committed to working with school partners to ensure the safety of all students, teachers and staff. (MCSO Booking# G278829)
