5th St. Closed Between Main St. and Oak St. Starting Monday, August 11
(August 10 , 2025) As part of the city's downtown reconstruction project, 5th St. will be closed between Main St. and Oak St. on Monday, August 11, for utility installation and partial road reconstruction. The road will close midday August 11 and remain closed for eight weeks. Detours around this closure are described below. See attached map (PDF).
- Southbound traffic on 5th St. will detour west to Oak St., then south on 3rd Street to reach Main St.
- Drivers on Main St. who want to turn north onto 5th St. should use 3rd or 7th streets to reach Oak St. and then return to 5th St.
Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to find an alternate route in advance. Drivers can also use the Waze app to navigate road closures. Click here to learn about Waze or install it on your smartphone.
