Washington, D.C. - The District of Columbia's award-winning Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) is proud to announce The Stacks as its December 2025 Location of the Month, highlighting one of the city's newest, boldest, and most visually compelling developments for film, television, photography, and live events.
Located along DC's rapidly transforming Southwest Waterfront, The Stacks is a 6+ acre, two-million-square-foot, mixed-use community spanning two city blocks bounded by V Street, T Street, First and Second Streets SW. The development is designed to redefine residential and public-space experiences while offering filmmakers and creators a cinematic backdrop unlike any other neighborhood in the District.
"From its sweeping river views to its beautifully designed public spaces, The Stacks offers filmmakers a uniquely versatile setting that reflects the energy and sophistication of our city," said Director LaToya Foster, OCTFME Director. "OCTFME is proud to spotlight this development as our Location of the Month and continue expanding DC's reputation as a premier destination for film, television, and creative production."
With panoramic views of the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers, National Airport, and Virginia, The Stacks merges the historic architectural character of Washington, D.C. with contemporary design and human-centered placemaking. Landscaped plazas, an urban park, curated public art installations, and rotating pop-up exhibits create a dynamic environment ideal for storytelling, commercial shoots, lifestyle content, and large-scale productions.
"We are honored to be recognized as the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment's Location of the Month. We designed The Stacks to capture the essence of Washington, D.C.: bold, authentic, and visually striking," said Kristin Connall, Vice President, Development, The Stacks. "With its expansive sightlines and distinctive architecture rooted in the city's European influences, The Stacks offers an exceptionally rich canvas for film and photography."
The Stacks is fully film-friendly, offering adaptable spaces, flexible outdoor and indoor environments, and standout visual elements ranging from modern lobbies and waterfront vistas to textured industrial edges.
