"It was fun to see so many coloring contest entries and all the different renditions the youth came up with on their coloring pages," said NDSA Executive Vice President Julie Ellingson. "Just like a coloring page comes to life with different colors, the beef industry is made vibrant by the people, cattle, landscapes, traditions and stories that make it unique."

The coloring contest was just one way the state celebrated Beef Month, which saluted the industry which contributes nearly $1.5 billion in direct cash receipts to North Dakota's economy each year and produces one of the most nutrient-dense, consumer-demanded food staples in the world.

The NDSA is a 97-year-old beef cattle trade organization that works to unite, protect, promote, educate and serve the state's beef cattle industry. For more information or to join, call (701) 223-2522 or visit www.ndstockmen.org.
