GRAND BLANC, Mich.- The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) this week notified attorneys for Henry Ford Genesys Hospital that the International Brotherhood of Teamsters has withdrawn one of four remaining unfair labor practice (ULP) charges against the hospital.
The voluntary withdrawal of case number 07-CA-372876 comes one week after the NLRB dismissed another charge filed by the union against the hospital.
The board continues to investigate three other claims filed by the union against Henry Ford Genesys Hospital. Attorneys for the health system say they believe those claims are also unfounded and expect those cases to be resolved in a similar manner.
Although Teamsters representatives repeatedly claim the union has filed "a dozen" unfair labor practice charges against Henry Ford Genesys Hospital, the truth is that eight of the union's remaining cases before the labor board were filed between May 2022 and September 2024, while the hospital was operated by Ascension Michigan, and are unrelated to the ongoing labor dispute at the hospital. Henry Ford Health assumed operations of the hospital in October 2024 and cannot, by law, be held responsible for the actions of previous operators.
