Milling and Resurfacing on Route 527 in Vernon

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 527 in Vernon. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, June 30 and be completed on Monday, July 20, 2026. The project DOT01710531CN C consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.05-mile segment of Route 527 in Vernon from Route 30 (Hartford Turnpike) to Route 83 (Union Street). This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading on Tuesday, June 30 to Monday, July 6, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by Palmer Paving is expected to begin on Monday, July 13 to Monday, July 20, 2026.

This project is included in CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 527 from Route 30 (Hartford Turnpike) to Route 83 (Union Street) in Vernon. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
