The City wants residents to know how to quickly report Public Works emergencies, especially during evenings, weekends, and upcoming holiday closures when weather and travel impacts are more likely.
Emergencies handled by the City of Vista Public Works Department include issues such as sewer problems, traffic signals that are out, downed trees, road debris, and water or irrigation issues in city parks.
After-Hours and Weekend Emergencies
For after-hours and weekend emergencies, residents should call: 760.825.3135. This number is monitored to ensure urgent issues that affect public safety and infrastructure can be addressed as quickly as possible.
During Business Hours
For non-emergency concerns during regular business hours, residents should call: 760.639.6177.
Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Holiday Closures
The Public Works Department will be closed on December 25 and January 1. During these closures, residents should use the after-hours emergency phone line (760.825.3135) to report any urgent Public Works-related issues.
City officials encourage residents to save both phone numbers and report problems as soon as they are observed. Prompt reporting helps crews respond faster, reduce hazards, and keep streets, signals, and public spaces safe, especially during storms, holidays, and periods of heavy travel.
