One Day for UWL gifts can unlock additional support for UWL students

Each year, One Day for UWL brings together alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends of U W -La Crosse for 24 hours of giving in support of the university and its students. This year's event is from 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The annual fundraising event celebrates the impact of philanthropy at UWL while providing an opportunity for the university community to invest in its future. Gifts made during One Day support a wide range of areas across campus, helping provide students with scholarships, learning opportunities, programs, resources and experiences that contribute to an exceptional college experience.

This year, the collective impact of One Day for UWL can go even further through the new 1909 Challenge .

Named in honor of UWL's founding year, the 1909 Challenge celebrates the university's enduring vision of transforming lives through the power of education. The challenge is designed to build on the collective generosity of the UWL community: when 1,909 gifts are made to any area of campus during One Day for UWL, a pool of funds provided by lead donors will be unlocked for the UWL Fund.

The UWL Fund provides student scholarships and resources to support the university's greatest areas of need. That means reaching the 1,909-gift goal will create an additional opportunity to strengthen support for students across campus.

Every gift made during One Day for UWL brings the university one step closer to 1,909 gifts in 24 hours. Whether supporting scholarships, an academic program, student organization, athletics or another area of campus, every donor has a role in reaching the challenge goal.

Together, the UWL community can turn 1,909 individual gifts into an even greater investment in students and the future of the university.
