‘Stay tuned’: Mystery GF entertainment revealed as NRL plans emotional Arrow tribute

An emotional pre-game tribute to Jai Arrow accompanied by a live performance of Liverpool F.C. anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone" is reportedly set to be part of the NRL's grand final entertainment on Sunday evening.

According to The Australian's Andrew Webster and CODE Sports journalist Pete Badel, the NRL will honour retired Souths star Arrow, who is in the midst of a battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

"You'll Never Walk Alone", which was played as Arrow led the Rabbitohs onto the field for their regular season finale against the Roosters earlier this month, is reportedly set to be performed by a number of high-profile Australian musicians while Arrow takes part in a heart-tugging lap of honour around Accor Stadium.

V'landys hasn't confirmed or deny the reports.

The newly-minted NRL executive chairman has teased there will be entertainment following the withdrawal of Australian pop star Tones and I, who was originally meant to perform.

V'landys previously stated that the secret entertainment would begin 11 minutes before kick off, but has changed his tune on the start time.

It's understood that the performance and Arrow's lap of honour will begin at 7:05, 25 minutes before kick off.

"Everyone is guessing but we have something," V'landys told CODE Sports.

"The only mistake I made was saying to wait until 11 minutes before the grand final. It's going to more like 20 minutes before the game.

"But, yes, there will definitely be a performance. Stay tuned."

CODE have revealed that a quartet of Australian entertainers in Jess Mauboy, Jimmy Barnes, Kate Cebrano and former Noiseworks frontman Jon Stevens have offered to step in and replace Tones and I following her bombshell cancellation.

However, it's unknown if the NRL have accepted that offer.
