Trump Administration Delivers $9.7 Million for Eastern Oklahoma

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Oklahoma State Director Zachary Swartz announced today that the Trump Administration will invest more than $9.7 million in community and infrastructure projects across rural Oklahoma.

"President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins know that our Oklahoma farm and ranch communities deserve the very best support USDA can provide to keep these communities thriving," said Swartz. "That is why the Trump Administration is fighting to ensure American taxpayer dollars are being spent on programs that are essential for the very survival of our rural communities. There is no better example of this than right here in Oklahoma where those USDA funds being applied to vital water infrastructure and community programs in the communities needed in Oklahoma."

The funding is provided through USDA Rural Development's Community Facilities and Water and Environmental Programs. These programs provide affordable funding to develop crucial community facilities and water infrastructure in rural Oklahoma communities.

Investments in rural Oklahoma include:

  • College of the Muscogee Nation - $251,959 grant to purchase equipment to assist the college staff
  • Sequoyah County Rural Water District No. 8 - $131,000 grant to provide emergency assistance and repair water lines destroyed during a recent storm
  • Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma - $30,000 grant for engineering report assistance for a future water infrastructure project
  • Ottawa County Rural Water District No. 5 - $3,848,000 grant to replace 10 miles of outdated water lines experiencing high-water loss
  • Delaware County Rural Water District No. 12 - $4,000,000 grant and $1,400,000 loan to replace a well and make water distribution system improvements
  • Craig County Rural Water District No. 3 - $135,000 grant to provide emergency assistance and repair water lines destroyed during a recent storm
