UPDATE: Driver dies after single-vehicle crash on Capitol Blvd.
April 23, 2025
The driver of the vehicle involved in a single-vehicle crash into a tree on April 15, 2025, has died from her injuries. The identity of the victim will be released by the Ada County Coroner's Office. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information about the incident to contact Ada County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 208-377-6790.

On April 15, 2025, shortly before 3 am, Boise Police responded to a single-vehicle crash into a tree on S. Capitol Blvd. north of W. Crescent Rim Dr. Upon arrival, officers located a single female occupant unresponsive in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Fire crews arrived on scene, extracted the female driver from the vehicle, and began performing life-saving measures. She was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Preliminary evidence indicates the driver of the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, drove over the median, across southbound traffic lanes, and crashed into a tree on the west side of the road. There were no other vehicles involved in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
