Czyzyk Appointed Interim Director for Student Life at Stony Brook Southampton
Richard D. Czyzyk has been appointed interim director for student life at Stony Brook Southampton.
Czyzyk brings over a decade of residence life and housing experience from both Stony Brook University and The Pennsylvania State University. His background includes a strong focus on student engagement, curriculum development, and campus community building.
Since fall 2022, Czyzyk has served as an assistant director with Campus Residences at Stony Brook, advising both academic initiatives and community engagement, as well as the Resident Assistant Development and Recruitment Committee.
Prior to higher education, Czyzyk worked as a clinical counselor specializing in substance abuse and mental health, which informs his holistic approach to student well-being. His leadership emphasizes mental health, inclusion, and community support. In this interim role, Richard will be instrumental in continuing to foster a strong sense of Seawolf community and belonging at Southampton.
