The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominations for the National Potato Promotion Board. The deadline for nominations is Aug. 15, 2026.
From the nominees, the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint 53 producer members and two importer members with terms beginning Mar. 1, 2027, and expiring either Feb. 2028, 2029, or 2030 as indicated below.

Nominations for producer members are submitted by potato producers in various states. Importers nominate importer members. Since 1966, Congress has authorized industry-funded research and promotion boards to provide a framework for agricultural industries to pool resources and combine efforts to develop new markets, strengthen existing markets and conduct important research and promotion activities. AMS provides oversight to 21 boards. Oversight ensures fiscal accountability and program integrity and is paid for by industry assessments.
