MINNESOTA - Today, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) was informed by the Department of Justice that the funding she and others had requested for the Annunciation Catholic School community has been awarded. This funding from the Office for Victims of Crime will provide resources for mental health and support services to those impacted by last year's tragic shooting, as well as for school modifications, substitute teachers, and medical needs.
Klobuchar urged and received a commitment from Attorney General Blanche during his confirmation hearing to work with her to make federal funding available to support the Annunciation community.
"The Annunciation community has shown incredible strength and resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy, and they deserve the resources to help them heal," said Klobuchar. "These federal funds will now be available to support the students, families, and educators impacted by this horrific shooting."
The federal funding will provide approximately $2.6 million to the Annunciation community.
