The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a 42-year-old woman.
On Friday, November 7, 2025, at approximately 2:36 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of South 84th Street and South Cherrywood Drive on a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
The initial investigation determined that a red 2010 Jeep Compass, driven by a 19-year-old man, was traveling northbound on South 84th Street approaching the Mopac Trail crossing when it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the street.
Medical personnel provided aid to the 42-year-old woman, who was transported to a local hospital. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. There is no indication of impairment or excessive speed. The identities of those involved are not being released at this time, and no citations have been issued.
