Illinois Army National Guard Soldiers Support Bright Star 25 in Egypt

Approximately 40 Illinois Army National Guard Soldiers, led by the Illinois National Guard's Director of the Joint Staff Brig. Gen. Jorge Fonseca, supported Bright Star 25's Command Post Exercise (CPX) in Egypt.

Exercise Bright Star 25 is a multilateral U.S. Central Command command-post exercise, field training exercise and senior leader seminar, held in the Arab Republic of Egypt along with other partner nations. Participation strengthens military-to-military relationships between U.S. forces and our Egyptian partners in the CENTCOM area of responsibility, as well as other participating nations.

Working side by side with their Egyptian counterparts, the ILARNG Soldiers formed the staff sections of the higher command within the CPX.

In addition to the training, the exercise also help build relationships with the Egyptians and some 40 other allies.

Bright Star 25 brings together forces from across the globe, underscoring the United States' enduring commitment to working alongside Egypt and partner nations to strengthen collective security and promote regional stability.
