Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Kong Xianhua Visits the Public Service Media of the Maldives

On March 9, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives H.E. Mr. Kong Xianhua visited the Public Service Media (PSM) of the Maldives. He held discussions with PSM Chairperson, Ms. Aminath Namza, to exchange views on strengthening China-Maldives media exchanges and cooperation.

Ambassador Kong briefed on China's ongoing "Two Sessions," noting that the period of the 15th Five-Year Plan will be a crucial five years for China as it advances toward the goal of basically realizing socialist modernization by 2035. China will continue to firmly promote high-quality development and high-level opening up, bringing more development opportunities to countries around the world, including the Maldives. He expressed hope that both sides would take this opportunity to further promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples through closer media exchanges and cooperation, and to elevate China-Maldives relations to a new level.

Ms. Namza expressed appreciation for China's long-standing support and stated that PSM attaches great importance to media exchanges and cooperation with Chinese counterparts. She also expressed PSM's willingness to strengthen personnel exchanges with China, learn from China's advanced technologies and development experience, and with China's support, promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional media to better serve the development of friendly relations between the two countries.
