Van Buren Street Closure Scheduled for Wednesday, July 29 for Crane Access

JOLIET, Ill. - Van Buren Street will be closed to through traffic between Chicago Street and Scott Street on Wednesday, July 29 beginning at 7:00 a.m. to accommodate crane operations at the Rialto Square Theatre. The road is planned to be re-opened by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, depending on weather and other factors.

The temporary closure is necessary to allow safe crane access to the roof of the Rialto Square Theatre. Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow for additional travel time in the area. No pedestrian traffic will be allowed on the north side of Van Buren Street in between the crosswalks while the crane work is being conducted. Pedestrians should use the south side of Van Buren Street during the closure.

Signage and traffic control measures will be in place to guide drivers and ensure pedestrian and vehicle safety throughout the duration of the closure. Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume following completion of the work.
