Buffalo, NY - Mayor Christopher P. Scanlon is calling on residents to shop local this holiday season. He issued this request as the historic Broadway Market gears up for the start of its holiday shopping season, taking place every Saturday in December (6, 13, 20) Sunday, December 21st, Monday, December 22nd, Tuesday, December 23rd and Christmas Eve.
Mayor Christopher P. Scanlon said, "The Broadway Market has been a cherished Buffalo tradition since 1888, bringing families and friends together to support local businesses and celebrate the season. This is your chance to shop local, enjoy delicious treats, and be part of an iconic community tradition!"
The holiday season at the Broadway Market will include unique foods, beverages, crafts, live music and special gifts. There will be pictures with Santa, as well as a free Holiday Train and Wine Show on the weekend before Christmas.
Mayor Scanlon's longstanding commitment to the Broadway Market reinforces his continued support for Buffalo's small businesses, essential components to the economic well-being of the City of Buffalo. Since 1888, the Broadway Market has been known for unique products and personal service, with meat stands, poultry stands, produce counters, bakeries, delis, candy stands and restaurants. Family-owned businesses, passed from generation to generation, have created some of Buffalo's best loved foods. The Market is open year round, and is located in Buffalo's Historic Broadway-Fillmore Neighborhood.
