Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation Awards 2026 Performing Arts Scholarship to Priscilla Werre

Lancaster, CA. September 1, 2026 - The Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation has awarded its 2026 Performing Arts Scholarship of $5,000 to Priscilla Werre, a 2026 graduate of Desert High School in Edwards, California, who will study Musical Theatre at the University of California, San Diego this fall.

Werre was selected from a pool of 17 applicants. Three finalists advanced to a live audition and interview round before a panel that included guest judge Mike "B Mike Rob" Robinson.

As a graduate of the Career and Technical Education Theater and Performing Arts Program, Werre has performed in, written, directed, and designed for more than a dozen productions since seventh grade. She played the title role in Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" in February 2026 and appeared as Fate 1 in "Hadestown: Teen Edition" at Cedar Street Theatre. She has been named Best Leading Actress three times for her school productions and performed at Carnegie Hall with the Honors Performance Series in February 2026.

"The Foundation is committed to cultivating the next generation of artists through financial support and recognition, and Priscilla represents exactly the kind of dedication this scholarship was created to honor," said Steven Derryberry, President of the LPACF Board.

The Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports the Lancaster Performing Arts Center through funding for programming, artist fee subsidies, an annual performing arts scholarship for graduating high school seniors, Arts for Youth educational programming, and community performing arts grants.
