Government Communications on collection of media accreditation for 2026 National Heritage Day celebration

Government through the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture in partnership with the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) and the Western Cape provincial government will host the 2026 national Heritage Day Celebration in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape.
The national celebration will now take place at the Bongolethu stadium, Oudtshoorn, on Thursday, 24 September 2026, under the theme, "Celebrating Our Living Heritage: Strengthening the Ties That Bind Us."
Members of the media who have applied for accreditation to cover the celebration are hereby requested to collect their accreditation as follows:
Collection venue: Thusong Centre, Oudtshoorn
Day 01: Wednesday, 23 September 2026
Time: 12:00 - 18h00
Day 02: Thursday, 24 September 2026
Time: 07h00 - 10h00
Required documents for collection:
- Valid ID/passport
- Driver's license
- Press card or letter of assignment from the editor
NB: NO DRONE ALLOWED AT THE VENUE ON THE 24th OF SEPTEMBER.
