CHICAGO - The Pullman State Historic Site and the Historic Pullman Empowerment Organization invite bicyclists and history buffs to the "Everyone Belongs in History: 1880s Black Founders of Pullman's North End" bike ride on Saturday, June 20.
In celebration of Juneteenth and Father's Day, participants will enjoy a three-mile bike ride while learning about the African American workers and families who lived and worked in the North Pullman Historic District during the 1880s and 1890s.
Riders will meet at 610 E. 111th St. in Chicago. The Pullman State Historic Site is accessible from the Metra Electric District's 111th Street Pullman Station.
Event partners include 9th Ward, 5th District, Calumet Area Industrial Commission, Roseland Chamber of Commerce, Rescue 8, National Park Conservation Association, Divvy, and community residents.
