Minister Chung delivered a special lecture to first-year students at Jeonju High School on the value of a peaceful Korean Peninsula, under the theme of "A Korean Peninsula of Peaceful Coexistence and Shared Growth."
In the lecture, he emphasized that ending hostility and confrontation between the South and the North and moving toward a new relationship of peaceful coexistence is a pressing challenge of our time. He explained that peace on the Korean Peninsula is becoming more important than ever amid the unstable international situation.
To this end, he stated that the South Korean government would consistently continue measures to practice peace preemptively while making efforts to restore trust and ease tensions between the South and the North.
In addition, he urged the future generation to become the leaders of a new era on the Korean Peninsula of peaceful coexistence and shared growth, based on free imagination, extensive reading, broad travel experiences, and positive thinking.
Furthermore, Minister Chung expressed his hope that the vision of turning the current of Korean Peninsula history from hostility and confrontation to reconciliation and cooperation would begin here today.
