In a proactive move to fortify the nation's digital frontiers, under the direction of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and the Chief of National Intelligence, the Defence Cyber Command (DCC) of the Ministry of Defence conducted a comprehensive Cybersecurity Awareness Program for the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs on 19 December 2025.

The event, held at the auditorium of Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla, was organized in strategic alignment with the "Clean Sri Lanka" national initiative. This collaboration emphasizes the critical importance of maintaining a secure and resilient digital environment as a cornerstone of national progress and digital cleanliness.

The primary objective of the program was to empower public sector officials with the knowledge necessary to navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape. The comprehensive curriculum addressed the current Cybersecurity Threat Landscape, providing insights into modern digital risks, alongside sessions on Digital Hygiene and Best Practices for maintaining data integrity. Furthermore, the program explored the intersection of E-Governance and secure infrastructure, provided an overview of the Legal and Policy Framework governing Sri Lankan cyberspace, and concluded with Practical Demonstrations featuring real-world simulations of cyber threats and mitigation strategies.

This awareness program was conducted by a delegation of technical experts led by the Director of the Defence Cyber Command of the Ministry of Defence. Demonstrating strong institutional support for the initiative, the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs was represented by its senior leadership. The participant group was headed by the Secretary to the Ministry, who was accompanied by the Director General of Planning and Monitoring, the Director of Administration, and several other senior staff officials. This engagement highlights a unified government commitment to protecting national digital assets and ensuring the safety of information systems across all ministries.
