The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, participated in this afternoon's meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.

The meeting was held after the recent parallel decisions by the European Union and the United States to introduce new sanctions against Russia, following Moscow's persistent unwillingness to commit to a cessation of the hostilities.

During her address via video link, President Meloni reiterated the importance of unity between the two sides of the Atlantic in pursuing a ceasefire, on the basis of which to launch a credible negotiation process starting from the current line of contact, with the goal of achieving a just and lasting peace.
