BOST RESPONDS TO STATE PLAN TO CUT SERVICES AT CHOATE MENTAL HEALTH CENTER IN ANNA

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (IL-12) today denounced plans for the Illinois Department of Human Services to significantly downsize operations at the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna. The facility's intellectual and developmental disabilities general units will close by September 30th, with its 75 civil mental health beds phased down by March 2027. The Choate campus will only have a 40-bed developmental disabilities unit and state administrative offices remaining.
