IN THE STATES: Democrats Win Big in Special Elections While Turbocharging Voter Outreach and Mobilization Ahead of November Arrow

The DNC is all hands on deck to support Mikie Sherrill and New Jersey Democrats down the ballot. Just this week, we announced an additional $1.5 million investment into the New Jersey Coordinated Campaign, bringing our total investment to $3 million - the largest amount the DNC has ever sent to the Garden State in an off-year election. With stakes this high, the DNC isn't leaving anything to chance - these investments will help fund voter contact efforts, hire campaign staff, test new outreach tools, and more.

Donald Trump and his Republican allies are attacking fair and free elections - but Democrats are fighting back. This week, we announced a massive organizing blitz to support Governor Newsom and California Democrats' Proposition 50, which gives Californians a chance to level the playing field and stand up to Trump's gerrymandering scheme. Across the state, the DNC's organizing team is deploying 41,000 volunteers as part of our latest bilingual organizing initiative to meet voters where they are and ensure they know how to vote "Yes" for Proposition 50 this November.

Democrats once again emerged victorious in special elections in Virginia and Minnesota. In Virginia, Rep. James Walkinshaw overwhelmingly won his election to Congress, shrinking the House Republicans' already narrow margin. In Minnesota, Xp Lee won the special election to hold the seat vacated by the late Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman. With these two victories, Democrats have now overperformed or won in 43 out of 44 special elections in 2025 - a testament to Democrats' growing momentum as voters put their faith in Democratic candidates who will fight on behalf of working families and not billionaires like Elon Musk.

As part of the DNC's mission to organize and compete at all levels across the country, this Saturday, DNC Chair Ken will travel to Georgia for a canvass kickoff event rallying support behind Democratic State Rep. Debra Shigley ahead of the Senate District 21 runoff election. Doesn't matter if the district is ruby red or navy blue, the DNC is hyper-focused on mobilizing voters in every corner of the state and building long-standing power within Georgia.

Last week, DNC Chair Ken Martin sat down with local San Antonio outlets to outline the DNC's strategy to fight and win big in deep red Texas. Chair Martin took the helm with a powerful mantra - "organize everywhere to win anywhere" - and Texas plays a critical role in this strategy. That's why the DNC is rewriting our playbook and making inroads with key voting blocs across Texas to ensure we take back our power in the state, not just in 2026 but for years to come.

Americans are witnessing a government cover-up in real time as Donald Trump and his congressional allies try to bury the truth about Trump's close friendship with convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein. But make no mistake: voters have questions, and they deserve the truth and transparency from the elected officials they sent to Washington. If the government won't give Americans that, the DNC will. From digital ads calling out vulnerable House Republicans on their spinelessness to a mobile billboard displaying Trump's close relationship with Epstein for the American people to see, the DNC is making sure Trump's lies and betrayals are at the forefront of Americans' minds.

The DNC is "all hands on deck" to fight back against Republicans and win tough races. That's why this week, we hosted a call to rally thousands of volunteers to kick off the fall election season. Fresh off the heels of Democrats' widely successful "Organizing Summer," this program aims to engage over 50,000 DNC volunteers by November.
