AAAID Explores Opportunities to Enhance Cooperation in the Agricultural and Fisheries Sectors in the Sultanate of Oman

As part of its commitment to strengthening mutual cooperation and enabling investment in the agricultural, fisheries, and aquaculture sectors, H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), met with H.E. Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman, on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, in Muscat.

The meeting discussed avenues of bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance investments in the agricultural, fisheries, and aquaculture sectors. It also addressed the development of joint projects that contribute to strengthening the food security ecosystem and advancing sustainable development.

H.E. Dr. Al Zaabi emphasized that AAAID places great importance on strengthening its partnership with the Sultanate of Oman, given its strategic location and its distinguished efforts in developing sectors related to food security. He noted that these efforts open broad prospects for collaboration on projects that support the sustainability of food supply chains and reinforce Arab food security.

This visit comes within the framework of AAAID's strategy to expand cooperation with Arab countries and contribute to the development and growth of vital productive sectors, thereby positively supporting comprehensive development and advancing the objectives of Arab food security and economic integration.
