TSA PreCheck Touchless ID Now Available at Boston Logan International

BOSTON - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in partnership with Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) and participating airlines, today announced the rollout of TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in Terminals A, B, and E. This innovative biometric technology allows eligible TSA PreCheck members to experience a faster, more seamless identity verification process without needing to present a physical ID or boarding pass at the security checkpoint.

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID uses advanced facial comparison technology to verify a traveler's identity in seconds. Passengers simply look into a camera at a dedicated lane, where their live photo is securely matched against their stored passport. This touchless process enhances security while providing a more efficient and convenient screening experience for enrolled travelers.

"Bringing TSA PreCheck Touchless ID to Boston Logan marks another step forward in modernizing airport security and improving the passenger journey," said Bob Allison, TSA's Federal Security Director for Massachusetts. "We are excited to offer this cutting-edge option to our travelers, reducing wait times and leading to a more streamlined security screening process."

The feature is available to current TSA PreCheck members flying with the following participating airlines at the specified terminals:

• Terminal A: Delta Air Lines
• Terminal B: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and United Airlines
• Terminal E: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines

To use TSA PreCheck Touchless ID, eligible passengers must opt in through their airline's app or profile (where supported) and ensure their TSA PreCheck Known Traveler Number and valid passport information are on file. A TSA PreCheck Touchless ID indicator will appear on the mobile boarding pass for qualifying flights.

Travelers are reminded to carry a physical ID as a backup, as requested by TSA officers when necessary. Enrollment in TSA PreCheck is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents via tsa.gov/precheck.

This expansion at Boston Logan supports the TSA's ongoing efforts to deploy TSA PreCheck Touchless ID at airports nationwide, delivering greater convenience and efficiency for millions of passengers. TSA PreCheck Touchless ID will be available at Bradley International Airport (BDL) and Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport by late March 2026.
