Placer/Nevada Counties - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane and ramp closures in multiple locations along Interstate 80 (I-80) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.
Motorists will experience delays with each project. If traveling across the entire corridor, the cumulative delay may reach up to 2 hours depending on traffic volumes. Caltrans encourages motorists to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 Sierra corridor and check QuickMap for real-time roadway information.
Here is the breakdown for next week in geographical order:
Eastbound I-80

Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Applegate and Canyon Way/Placer Hills Road, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, June 14 through Thursday, June 18. Work is also scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, June 19 to 7 a.m. Saturday, June 20.

Alta Pavement Improvement Project near Gold Run, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18. Work is also scheduled from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, June 19.

Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project

Between Monte Vista and Drum Forebay, various lane closures are scheduled around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday, June 15 through 10 a.m. Friday, June 19.

Crystal Springs on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to Baxter and return westbound on I-80 to Crystal Springs.

Drum Forebay on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to the next available exit and return westbound on I-80 to Drum Forebay.

Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project, Blue Canyon Road is scheduled to be closed starting 10 p.m. Sunday, June 14 through noon Friday, June 19.

Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project between Blue Canyon Road and Nyack, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Wednesday, June 17.

Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Troy and Soda Springs, lane closure scheduled around the clock for concrete pouring and curing starting 6 p.m. Sunday, June 14 through 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23.

Donner Lake Vista Point is closed and scheduled to reopen at the end of the month.

Between Vista Point and Donner Lake Interchange, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18.
Emergency Culvert/Rockfall Project

Between the Sierra/Nevada County line and Farad, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18.

Between Floriston and Hinton Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18.
Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project

Near Kingvale, various lane closures are currently in place around the clock and scheduled to end at 7 p.m. Friday, June 19.

Near Rainbow Road, various lane closures are scheduled around the clock from 7 a.m. Monday, June 15 through 9 a.m. Friday, June 19.
Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project
Off-ramp at Yuba Gap is closed until further notice due to the crossover in place along westbound I-80. Motorists will detour westbound to Emigrant Gap and return eastbound on I-80 to Yuba Gap.

On-ramp at Yuba Gap is scheduled to be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18. Motorists will detour eastbound to Eagle Lakes Road and return westbound on I-80.

Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project between Blue Canyon and Whitmore, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18.

Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Drum Forebay and Monte Vista, various lane closures are scheduled from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 9 a.m. Friday, June 19.

Near Gold Run, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 through Thursday, June 18.

Between Secret Town and Magra, various lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14 to 6 a.m. Monday, June 15 and from 5 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18. Work is scheduled to end for the week by 6 a.m. Friday, June 19.
Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Canyon Way/Placer Hills Road and Heather Glen, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18, and from 8 p.m. Friday, June 19 to 7 a.m. Saturday, June 20.
The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
