Six semi-finalists for the position of Bismarck State College (BSC) president will be on the college campus March 2-4. The public is invited to attend the community forums held in the Basin Electric Auditorium inside the BSC National Energy Center of Excellence.
The BSC Presidential Search Committee extended invitations to the following individuals to come to campus for open employee, student and community forums:

Community forum: Monday, March 2, 3 p.m.
Dr. Gaby Hawat
Principal
Catalyst Partners
Community forum: Monday, March 2, 4 p.m.
Mr. Clint Cowden
Assistant Superintendent and Vice President of Instruction and Student Services
Palo Verde College
Community forum: Tuesday, March 3, 8 a.m.
Dr. Brian Kalk
Chief Research Officer
University of North Dakota's Energy and Environmental Research Center
Community forum: Tuesday, March 3, 4 p.m.
Dr. Dan Leingang
Interim President
Bismarck State College
Community forum: Wednesday, March 4, 8 a.m.
Dr. Rai Kathuria
Former Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
Empire State University
Community forum: Wednesday, March 4, 4 p.m.

A total of 51 applications were submitted for the position. The BSC Presidential Search Committee interviewed 11 candidates during its initial round of interviews, narrowing down the field to the top six.
Each of the six semi-finalists will spend time on campus in public forums, meeting with students, employees and the BSC Search Committee, and touring the campus and community. Following the visits, the BSC Search Committee will forward three or more finalists to interview with the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education (SBHE). The SBHE will name BSC's next president during a special March 31 meeting at BSC's National Energy Center of Excellence.
The new president will assume office on July 1, 2026.
