The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with China Marina Ragus and PFG members Prim.Dr Nada Macura, Olivera Denic and Dragan M. Markovic took part in the workshop on acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine, held today at the National Assembly House by practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine, co-organised by the Confucius Institute of the University of Novi Sad and the National Assembly.
During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn about the basic principles of acupuncture, its historical development and its place in the system of traditional Chinese medicine, as well as to gain direct insight into this ancient method of treatment through the practical part. The participants were introduced to the centuries-old wisdom of Chinese acupuncture through an interactive presentation, and presented the official statistical data of the World Health Organization, according to which the use of acupuncture is now recognized and approved in as many as 113 WHO member states.
The members of the PFG with China also had the opportunity to learn more about the basic functions and key elements of acupuncture. Practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine demonstrated the wide application of this ancient method through practical examples, emphasizing its significant contribution to disease prevention, therapeutic treatment of various health problems, as well as in modern holistic treatments for rejuvenation and revitalization of the body.
The organization of this event is a continuation of the successful cooperation between the National Assembly and the Confucius Institute of the University of Novi Sad in the field of promoting Chinese culture, language and tradition in Serbia. Meetings of this kind provide the opportunity to learn about the culture, tradition and achievements of China, as well as exchange knowledge and experiences between the two countries.
