City of Tucson Honors Local Businesses for Composting Through FoodCycle Program

The City of Tucson's Environmental Services Department is proud to recognize local businesses for their outstanding commitment to sustainability through participation in the Commercial FoodCycle Program. This year, two community leaders, Reid Park Zoo and Raging Sage Coffee Roasters are being honored for their excellence in food waste diversion and contamination prevention.

"These awards celebrate businesses that are helping advance the City's Zero Waste goals by keeping organic material out of our landfill and reducing methane emissions," said Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, "The growth in the program shows the Tucson community and business partners are making food waste diversion a priority."

Large-Scale Award: Reid Park Zoo

A longtime FoodCycle partner, Reid Park Zoo has participated in the program for over five years. Over the past year, the Zoo has demonstrated exceptional dedication by maintaining extremely low contamination levels.

Small-Scale Award: Raging Sage Coffee Roasters

Raging Sage Coffee Roasters is recognized in the small business category for its strong commitment to outstanding composting practices, with only one observed contamination incident.
