North Elam Avenue, Summit Avenue, and Oakland Avenue Lane Closures Begin November 3

Beginning on Monday, November 3, and continuing through Monday, January 26, the following streets will experience occasional lane closures and delays daily from 7 am to 4 pm due to water line rehabilitation work:

  • North Elam Avenue from Hiawatha Drive to Battleground Avenue
  • West Cornwallis Drive from North Elam Avenue to Honeysuckle Drive
  • Dewey Street from Cypress Street to Summit Avenue
  • Oakland Avenue from the intersection of Oakland Avenue and McManus Street 350 feet west and 250 feet east

See the maps for locations. Signs and traffic cones will be in place and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the areas. Dates and times may change due to weather or last-minute changes in the work schedule.

The job is part of the City's ongoing Water Rehabilitation Program, which is funded by water and sewer utility payments. For more information, contact City contractor Mainlining America at 336-825-0637.
