Aspirus Enhances Mammography Access Across the Upper Peninsula

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Aspirus Health is encouraging women to prioritize their breast health by scheduling regular mammograms and taking advantage of enhanced mammography access with extended and accommodating appointment options at select Aspirus locations throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting women, but early detection through routine screening mammograms can significantly improve treatment outcomes. Aspirus Health is committed to making these lifesaving screenings as convenient and accessible as possible for the communities it serves.

"Early detection is one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against breast cancer," said Natalie Seaber, Michigan Region President for Aspirus. "By offering expanded and flexible appointment availability at several Upper Peninsula locations, we are helping women prioritize their health and remove barriers that may prevent them from scheduling routine screenings."

Aspirus offers mammography services at multiple locations throughout the Upper Peninsula, including Aspirus Ironwood, Aspirus Keweenaw, Aspirus Iron River Hospital, and Aspirus Ontonagon Clinic, helping patients find convenient appointment options close to home. Teams across the region work closely with patients to accommodate scheduling needs and identify convenient appointment times, including evening and extended-hour availability at select locations. Aspirus Health was also the first health system in Michigan's Upper Peninsula to introduce breast health nurse navigators, who provide personalized support to patients throughout their breast health journey. When additional testing or treatment is needed, nurse navigators help coordinate care, connect patients with resources, answer questions, and provide education and support every step of the way.
