Spencer Cancer Center invites community to “Think Pink” this October

Spencer Cancer Center is hosting its 22nd Annual Think Pink event Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 - 11:30 a.m. Central Time at its location in Opelika.

Think Pink celebrates local breast cancer survivors and raises awareness of the ongoing battle against the disease. The event is open to breast cancer survivors, supporters and community members who want to celebrate, honor or encourage those impacted by breast cancer.

Registration is required, with tickets available for $15 each and includes a commemorative shirt. Survivors and supporters may register online at www.eastalabamahealth.orghttps://onecau.se/thinkpink2026 until Wednesday, Sept. 30, or register in person the day of the event.

"Think Pink is a powerful day for survivors, families and friends in our community to come together in celebration, remembrance and support," Chris Waits, executive director of oncology at the Spencer Cancer Center, said. "It is also an important reminder of the role early detection and access to care play in the fight against breast cancer."

During the event, attendees can expect live entertainment, local vendors and activities for all ages, as well as a celebration walk in honor of breast cancer survivors within the community.

Funds raised through ticket purchases and donations benefit the EAMC Foundation's Breast Health Fund, which assists medically uninsured women in east Alabama with mammograms and breast cancer screenings year-round.
