Shore Medical Center announced today that ER Nurse Tyler Melnicove, RN, BSN, ATC, EMT, has been named its October Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional patient care. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say 'thank you' to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.
A resident of Margate, NJ, Melnicove has been an ER Nurse at Shore for six months, quickly earning praise from colleagues and patients alike for his professionalism, compassion and dedication to patient care.
Before becoming a nurse, Melnicove worked for more than a decade in Emergency Medical Services across South Jersey. He brings a wealth of hands-on experience to his nursing career. His manager, Kevin Houser, RN, said, "Tyler is a hard-working, enthusiastic, and eager-to-learn nurse. He cares about all of his patients and is professional, kind, and humble."
Melnicove has also received praise from patients, including one who recently made a Guardian Angel donation in his honor, sharing: "I arrived at Shore having an acute heart attack in the early morning. Tyler, my nurse, was amazing - knowledgeable, calm, and reassuring, which put me and my fiancé at ease. We will always be grateful to him for the kindness and compassion shown to us. Tyler is truly an asset to your organization!"
Outside of the ER, Melnicove enjoys skiing, snowboarding, golf, and cooking.
Shore Medical Center's Guardian Angel program provides an opportunity for patients and families to recognize anyone at Shore who makes a difference in their care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized among their peers and presented with a Guardian Angel pin at Shore's annual pinning ceremony.
