NMU Signs Articulation Agreement with KBOCC

Northern Michigan University has entered into an articulation agreement with Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College, allowing a seamless transfer for students who earn an Associates Degree in Business Administration from KBOCC to NMU's Bachelor's of Science in Management program.

"This agreement creates a clear and accessible pathway for KBOCC students who want to continue their education at NMU's AACSB-accredited College of Business," said Stacy Boyer-Davis, assistant department head and MBA director for NMU's College of Business. "By recognizing the academic progress students have already made and allowing those credits to transfer seamlessly, we are helping to remove barriers to earning a bachelor's degree while building on the strong educational foundation they receive at KBOCC. We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with KBOCC and expand more opportunities for students across our region."

Students in the KBOCC program will earn between 68-72 credit hours, all of which will transfer to NMU. They'll then earn 48-57 credit hours from NMU to finish their bachelor's degree.

NMU's Bachelor's of Applied Sciences in management prepares students for managerial careers in technical fields. The program is designed to help non-traditional students and returning adult learners with completed associate degrees in most technical fields to develop the skills that employers value in project leaders, team leaders and managers.

The agreement is effective as of Oct. 20, 2026 and will run for three years, with the option to renew at that time.

For more information on the agreement, visit NMU's transfer agreement website, or contact NMU Admissions at [email protected] or 906-227-2650.
