Goodyear Takes Next Step in City Manager Recruitment

The year may be wrapping up, but the Goodyear City Council is taking important next steps in the selection of the next city manager. In October, current City Manager Wynette Reed announced her retirement, effective March 6, 2026, capping a remarkable career dedicated to public service that has spanned more than 39 years. Read more about her years of public service here.

The city council has approved the selection of WBCP, Inc. to handle the nationwide recruitment for the new city manager for the nation's ninth fastest-growing city. A subcommittee made up of three councilmembers has met routinely since early November to review proposals, interview suitable bidders and recommend a firm to conduct the recruitment. WBCP, Inc. was recommended due to its experience, effective recruitment approach, strong reputation and positive feedback from other cities. The subcommittee will meet prior to the end of the year to determine a timeline for the recruitment.

The city is committed to transparency through this process and will continue to update the public on the recruitment.
