Energy Services Inc. and Mercy Chefs Inc. Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants
Irving, TX (June 5, 2026) - Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both Energy Services Inc. and Mercy Chefs Inc. as part of the company's "30 Days of Giving" initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar's nationwide footprint.
"30 Days of Giving" is an employee-driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar's founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar's 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation's Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to "30 Days of Giving."
The Foundation today recognized Energy Services Inc. and Mercy Chefs Inc. as recipients of $5,000 grants. Employees at WLAX/WEUX-TV, the Nexstar television stations serving La Crosse, WI, and WAVY-TV in Norfolk, VA, nominated the organizations.
Founded in 1982, Energy Services Inc. (ESI) is a people-focused organization that supports households facing critical energy needs, helping limited-income families prevent or manage energy-related emergencies while promoting long-term self-sufficiency. During the most recent heating season, ESI assisted more than 90,000 households across 22 Wisconsin counties with grants and services. In 2014, ESI and the Keep Wisconsin Warm/Cool Fund launched the Heat and Housing for Heroes campaign to help U.S. miliary veterans avoid energy-related emergencies by keeping heat and power on, while connecting them to additional state, county, and veteran resources.
"The '30 Days of Giving' grant will help Energy Services, Inc. continue to provide heating and cooling assistance to struggling veterans in Wisconsin through their Keep Wisconsin Warm/Cool Fund and Housing for Heroes initiatives," said Cory Gylock, Vice President and General Manager of WLAX/WEUX-TV in La Crosse, WI. "Local organizations like Energy Services Inc. are the backbone of the strong, resilient communities of Western Wisconsin and we're honored to support their mission to help local veterans in need."
