Medication Disposal Day

The Lewisville Police Department, Lewisville ISD, and the Drug Enforcement Agency will hold a medication disposal day on Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., in the parking lot at Lewisville High School, 1098 W. Main Street.

The goal of this operation is to reduce the risk of prescription drug abuse and increase awareness of this critical public health issue. This is a great opportunity for those who have missed previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.

The non-medical use of prescription drugs ranks second only to marijuana among the most common forms of drug abuse in the United States. Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdoses, and abuse.
